RIP Lauren Stevens.

Lauren Stevens

It was with shock that I heard of your passing away. Lauren I met your fabulous beautiful you when I worked at Unilever +- 28 years ago. I did not know you well then but we both joined SABMiller in April 2005. We bonded because we felt lost in this new world of men and beer. We could not quite get used to the fact that we had to drink beer.

We smuggled some wine at our first-ever conference as we were newbies trying to fit in the boys club. Our friendship blossomed because we were trying to fit into a new world. You were an amazing Media Queen. Wow, your negotiations with media owners and media agencies were on point. We would all remain silent as you showed us your on-point media knowledge. I got so mad at you when you chose to help the Castle Lager team during those tough times of Norman Adami. But we continued to laugh and to share so much.

We lost touch as I became a mum and I left SAB. But seeing you 2 months ago at Dainfern square was so beautiful. I am still not ok. I can’t believe you are gone. Farewell to the queen of media.

I will miss you. Feisty. Intelligent. Beautiful. Resilient.
